have the exact same issue, i'm also on a XsMax running ios 13.5, altserver doesn't open, i've managed to find another way to sideload unc0ver for now but this isn't optimal
Have the exact same issue for me on iOS 12.5.5 No issues before update. Altstore update 1.4.8 made altstore crash along with the other sideloaded apps.
I have the same problem after updating to 1.4.8
For everyone else who is on 13.5 and has a jailbreak. Sideloadly can be used to install unc0ver in the meantime. It’s not optimal because it does not refresh itself like AltStore so it will have to be refreshed manual in 7 days.
You can also get the 1.4.7 ipa from here and install it via Sideloadly, or if you are already jailbroken use Ext3nder
Thank you for uploading the AltStore 1.4.7 ipa for every else but for me, it gives be an error starting the app after using Sideloadly and ext3nder app itself is giving several errors. Anyone else who tries it, let me know how it turns out.
For some reason, I had to use another apple id for Sideloady to work. The one used for Altstore gave errors. This might be the case.
Using my other apple id doesn't work either for me, thank you for the help though.

It says unable to launch AltStore. The file "Apps" could not be saved in the folder "Application support".
Yes I got that error as well
in the mean time u can just use the 1.4.7 version of altstore that should fix it, just don't update back to 1.4.8 for now https://www.mediafire.com/file/ch9kem63501lc7x/AltServer_1.5b8_Windows.zip/file - windows https://www.mediafire.com/file/jevd1o3sp6b7uzz/AltServer_1.5b8_macOS.zip/file - Mac
I got the same error, IPhone 5s, IOS 12.54

Is there any difference between the beta version and the standard version? Will there be any issues in the future? And is it ok if I use a different Apple ID from my device to register Altstore?
@shevy4, thank you, it works now!
iPadOS 13.7, using AltStore 14.7 on mac, and the crash happen on me. Don't know if I was installed the 14.8 version but when I tried to check the update it states that I already using the latest version.
Edit Using @shevy4 build works perfectly. Thanks :)
Same problem, and waiting for a final fix.
@shevy4 it worked for me.. thanks!
In Cydia repo https://cydia.ichitaso.com/ found Altstore 1.4.6 and it works well. You must add the repo https://cydia.dtathemes.com/repo/ for found AltDeamon 1.0
there wasnt any reply to the comment above on how tp get aroung the "It says unable to launch AltStore. The file "Apps" could not be saved in the folder "Application support"." issue??
Yes I got that error as well
any help here?
Same issue on iPhone XR with iOS 13.4.1 Downgrading AltServer using the link provided by anonymous is a good workaround in the meantime.

Worked for me! Thanks! Hope will not hit the "refresh all" mistakenly 😅
Same issue on iPhone 6P with iOS 12.5.4, Here is the crash log show in Xcode -> Devices and Simulators -> View Device Logs
Can confirm the same problem on iOS 12 without a system update.

thanks the link worked for me finally I can be jail broken on ios 13 again :)
I’m really surprised that this hasn’t been fixed yet, this has completely removed my ability to jailbreak my phone until manage to do a downgrade and I’ve had to be unjailbroken for months now
I guess all of us still on ios 13 and below are SOL. Haven't been able to jailbreak since the latest altstore update. App just crashes on ios 13.
Alt store hasn’t fixed it but when you click on that dudes link and download that version it works I was just like you unable to jail break for almost a month and finally found a solution to fix my alt store crashing on boot up

The link above used to work, but when I switched to my M1 macbook, it's not working anymore :/ I think it has something to do with the mail plugin.
@rileytestut Sorry for the mention but if you don't know about this you might want to look into it because this is a big issue

This version of AltServer (1.5b8) doesn't work for me anymore (iPad mini 2, iOS 12.5.5). Watched through Reddit posts, same there. I don't know what to try. I mean AltStore crashes and that's it for now.
I have the same issue on PC, but I found a workaround to keep things signed with AltStore:
Download Sideloadly. Download Unc0ver or any other jailbreak app that works for you.
Install Unc0ver through Sideloadly. Jailbreak!
Download and install Filza via Cydia (or any other package manager) from the BigBoss repo. Download and install AltDaemon 1.0.1 via Cydia (or any other package manager) from the Chariz repo. Download and install AppSync Unified via Cydia (or any other package manager) from the OFFICIAL Karen (Akemi) Repo.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS TWEAK FROM ANY OTHER REPO. A lot of other repo’s have modified this tweak with adware, where it can install extra apps and tweaks you do not need and will slow down your device. A lot of repo’s have it unmodified too, but just be safe and install it from the creator’s repo!
Download AltStore 1.4.7 either via PC or directly on your iDevice.
If you use a PC, use an app with file share support visible in iTunes and upload AltStore there via iTunes. I used AppCake. Don't install AltStore through AppCake, as it won't work.
For both the PC and iDevice methods do the following:
Open Filza and find the location where AltStore is stored.
With AppCake go to Apps manager and it will be relatively at the top. Tap it and go to the documents folder to find AltStore.
For any other method, use a similar way. If you can't find it you can always search for it by tapping on the magnifying glass in the top left, but don't forget to switch to Root.
After you found it, tap it and install it.
After it is installed make sure it works by opening AltStore. Go to My Apps in AltStore and tap Refresh All.
For me after refreshing it installed a "new" version of AltStore next to the existing one. It did this because of certificate issues, as the "old" version of this app can no longer sign itself. If this happens for you, just uninstall the "old" version and continue with the "new" version.
uninstall Unc0ver.
Download Unc0ver on your iDevice directly, so you can find it in the native Files App.
You can also use the Open in AltStore function directly from the site, but that never works for me, so this is the way that it always works for me.
Open the Files App and find Unc0ver. Tap on Unc0ver and tap the icon in the upper right corner. Select Open in/copy to AltStore.
You may need to swipe the top app row to the end and select More to find the AltStore option.
After Unc0ver is installed through AltStore, tap Refresh All one more time to make sure it can sign both Unc0ver and AltStore.
!!!DONE!!!
----\TLDR/----
Install Unc0ver through Sideloadly and jailbreak. install AltStore through Filza. Uninstall Unc0ver. Install Unc0ver through AltStore.
!!!DONE!!!
!!!DONE!!!
That's very helpful, thank you very much!
@mhdj14 this fix worked. originally i had the issue begin with updating 1.4.7 to 1.4.8 on my ip8+ on iOS 13.5.1, and i began using the link above to the 1.5.b8 beta and for a while that worked until today when i began experiencing the same issue installing via windows pc. used sideloadly to install unc0ver then installed 1.4.7 ipa via filza (using the 1.4.7 pc executable to install to my phone resulted in an error of “apps” couldn’t be installed in application support when launching it on device). after installing via filza though it finally worked. great workaround but hoping devs can find a solution soon. kudos

I installed 1.4.7 via Filza aswell, since i would get the same error using the 1.4.7 pc executable. Gotta mention that is important to have installed AppSync Unified since without it, when trying to install it, the following error will appear: "a valid provisioning for this executable was not found..."

Yes, you are totally right! I completely forgot about that, as it’s the first tweak I always install after a jailbreak. I will add that to my original post.
i sometimes encounter that error as well, even when installing other ipa files not related to this issue. don't take my word for it but could be that appsync unified didn't correctly load its library (sometimes just like rocketbootstrap.dylib fails to load) and usually a userspace reboot and worst cases, a full reboot and rejailbreak fixes this entitlement error. another tip - idk if you use u0 or taurine/chimera but prior to jailbreaking go to settings and disable tweaks, then jailbreak, open newterm2, enter "su sbreload" and you will be asked for root password (if you never set up its alpine by default, but change asap). i hope that helps. if anyone has a better method or suggestion then definitely share. but usually thats the steps i take to successfully workaround this error.

So I was able to install unc0ver but I had to use altserverpatch because sideloadly no longer works. Seems that sideloadly does not work with an account that has 2FA but altserver does.
After this, I was able to jailbreak the iPad. I then got all the required packages installed. I used Filza to install the 1_4_7 altstore and it seems to have installed correctly but I can't get it to refresh.
I have tryed the AltServer 1.5b8 and the orignal altServer 1.4.7. I am directly connected by USB with a new version of iCloud and Itunes. Also, AltDaemon 1.0.1 and AppSync Unified are both installed and running.
When I hit refresh it gives me the Error: Failed to Refresh AltStore: Undefined Error: 0.
Can't get Unc0ver to work so for now I am back to a tethered solution whenever the iPad reboots. This solution has always truly been a tethered one with often the updates seem to break it.
hello, sorry for the lack of response - is the issue still occurring on the latest version?
iPhone XS Max, iOS 13.5, Altserver 1.4.7, Altstore 1.4.8 No issues before update. Altstore update 1.4.8 made altstore crash along with the other sideloaded apps.
