Avoiding Word dependency #105

First off, thank you very much for this software, with it I am hoping I can finally escape the MS trap and move fully to Linux.

However, I am unable to find a way to install Word without giving yet again more money to MS. The so-call "free trial" can only be canceled AFTER the first payment, and it applies ONLY to Family plan for a year - meaning 175 NZ dollars down the drain. At least in New Zealand.

And I removed the rest of the Office many years ago and cannot find my key - so again a no-go.

I see your comment on one of the closed issues that "maybe with additional efforts the tool could work without Word but most of users have both OneNote and Word installed so I will not invest time on it."

I would think that a lot of users with OneNote for Windows 10 are in this situation - they switched to LibreOffice long time ago but continued using OneNote that is free with Windows. (for now)

Could you please consider removing the Word dependency?

Thanks!

Hey @afalout , the tool do not only required Word but also (and mainly) Onenote. The Onenote For Windows free software is not supported. Consequenlty, you do need an active office installation to run the tool.

Have you consider to subscribe to Office 365 one month trial with a monthly subscription ?

@afalout,

i am on the way from windows 10 to linux desktop and for these purpose ordered a Microsoft Office 2021 ProfPlus OEM reuse license for 3 PCs for less than 20 EUR (reseller technikmarkt-aschaffenburg.de). This has two benefits, i am able to use MS Office for migration without paying extra $$ to MS.

Best regards
