Tested along floor:

Accurate from 10 to 80 cm, offset only -1 (average)
90 cm returned 87-90 cm (also not bad) -100 cm and above: Return value settles at 87 - 97 cm Signal might get muddled by other echo activity?

Tested device in hand towards floor: -Returns sporadically sensible values above 97 cm, but still returns 87 - 97 a lot... Sometimes 0

Elevated sonar 5 cm above floor: stable up to 110 cm, offset 0. Elevated sonar approx 8 cm above floor: unstable again at 110 cm... (?)

Possible workaround: Measure distance between sonar and floor manually, since it won't change. Sonar should be able to read distance to a person's head with consistent accuracy, even if it can't read the floor very well.

Solved. Just too much clutter at home
