I tried to use the inventory scanner to check that the dropper contains items before pulsing everything. However it appears that if I pulse the dropper and it drops it's last items the inventory scanner does not update to reflect that the dropper is no empty. The next time I pulse the now empty hopper the inventory scanner updates to reflect that.
