Same here.

primewaydesign commented 1 year ago

Same here! Only way to resolve is to close the tab(s) and link device(s) again which is not efficient in my case.

andreigollo commented 1 year ago

4.7.3 seems to work fine. I still wants to upgrade chrome , but passes thru and starts.

amanharwara commented 1 year ago

Ctrl+Shift+R normally fixes this without needing to re-link accounts or exiting the app. There's nothing I've been able to do that consistently fixes this for everyone everytime, and I don't have control over WhatsApp's code to disable this somehow.

If you don't need to use multiple accounts or custom themes, I'd honestly just recommend using the official WhatsApp desktop app at this point.

loo8 commented 1 year ago

Reloading is not fixing it. As andreigollo said 4.7.3 is showing the update notice too, but just for a second and then it's working as intended . In my case i really like to use Altus because i have to use multiple accounts. :)

It feels like the solution is to simply change some of the dependency versions and wait for a while and not to update the dependencies until things stabilize instead of trying to fight with it or fix it.

The reason I recommend this is because older versions "work" and the main differences between older versions and the current one is dependencies versions. So why fix if not broken

amanharwara commented 1 year ago

Should be fixed in v4.8.0 (Can take a few seconds to auto-reload)

pythys commented 1 year ago

I confirm that it works (finally) after a few broken version.

amanharwara commented 1 year ago

Please try out v4.8.1, which has a new fix for this issue, and it shouldn't require any reloads.

Also, closing this issue since it's a duplicate of #178
