Floating User Profiles not just built in profiles #112

Can their be profiles that can be used for other devices installed with Anime Tv. Nice of you to add profiles on the specific device but what happens when i install the app on multiple devices in my home. Can there be like a sign in that keeps a track of everything the same regardless which device a user is on so they have a floating user profile. So like a google or email registration for a user

Unfortunately, sign in feature will require a paid server to host the data/users and can get costly. The project rn is free and zero cost for the goated dev. The best way to use the current AnimeTV across different devices is signing in to MAL/Anilist where there’s an episode tracker. And you’ll be able to watch from the episode you left off of from different devices by signing in and enabling tabbed list by clicking “MyList” and marking the anime as “Currently” watching (no timestamp as of yet).

The main features AnimeTV have is it's independent from any server/backend. No hidden process from backend server, no analytic, and no down time.

Source have no relation with AnimeTV, if source down sure you can't watch any anime on that source, but we have 6 of it.

You even will still be able to watch any anime when it was down / taken down (hope not happened). The only things that interrupted when git down is update, wallpaper & profile picture selection. other than that's it's ok.

I don't have any plan to add backend service since I don't want to risk anything if its taken down.

Thanks so much for clarifying in so much detail it has helped in seeing and understand your vision for your app design and app planning. Im glad your team has truly made a gem nothing else out there can compete with it. Just one other question someone asked me to inquire with you and your team. Can your saved list have it's own entity so that when you change server you still have your saved anime?

For sign in issue, I will close it. because I will never add server/backend for sign in features.

But I may add export/import via Google drive or other accounts - already planning it.

For list that follow when source server, I also already planning to add global hitory/watchlist that still available when you change source, but I may need a time to develop, I want it to play nicely with current watchlist/history data, so no difficulty when we do the update...
