Packages forcibly removed #150

MacBook Air M2 macOS Sonoma 14.4 (23E214) TeX Live Utility Version 1.54 (1.54)

The status of 2 packages (arara, arara.universal-darwin) is "Forcibly removed". When I run "Update All Packages", I get the message "Update Succeeded". However, when I update the package list again, these 2 packages reappear. What is wrong here?

I have the same behavior. It appeared after installing the MacTex 2024 distribution.

MBP M1Max macOS 14.5 (23F79) TeX Live Utility Version 1.54 (1.54)

Yet it doesn't appear to cause problems as far as I can see. Bildschirmfoto 2024-05-22 um 17 47 56

Sorry, it seems I forgot to comment on this. Please select the packages and choose Reinstall from the context menu or main menu. This generally happens due to a network error when the underlying tlmgr tool is running.

Thanks, amaxwell, that solved it apparently.

Could the Utility be made to tell the user that the affected package could or must be reinstalled ? At least a more precise hint at the underlying problem ? I mean I would have never made the connection between „forcibly removed” and „Needs reinstall”.
