What package is missing from Amazon Linux 2023? Please describe and include package name.

Incus: https://linuxcontainers.org/incus

Incus is a modern, secure and powerful system container and virtual machine manager. It provides a unified experience for running and managing full Linux systems inside containers or virtual machines.

Is this an update to existing package or new package request?

It's a new request.

Is this package available in Amazon Linux 2? If it is available via external sources such as EPEL, please specify.

https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ganto/lxc4 incus-0.5.1-0.1.fc38.src.rpm

Any additional information you'd like to include. (use-cases, etc)

Running containers on Amazon instances.

Since there's a build in COPR, have you tried an AL2023 build in COPR?

jalbstmeijer commented 2 weeks ago

@stewartsmith

First managed to get them installed with the help of FC38 provided dependencies, see;

https://discuss.linuxcontainers.org/t/amazonlinux2023-support/19067/14

Tried then to build it natively for AL2023, but ended up in a build dependency loop. I'm not really experienced in rpm building.
