What is battin and batt out

I am looking at the list of possible device parameters and notice two fields, battin and battout. What are these? Are they the batteries in the outside unit and the batteries in the inside unit on the console? Most of the other fields have a sparse definition but you can tell what they are, but these are a mystery.

battin is the status of the battery in the inside sensor set battout is the status of the battery in the main sensor array.
