Text item not visible when creating another

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter a Text item
2. Click on another location to create a new text item
3. The first text item is not visible. It can be seen only when clicking on
it for editing.
4. Does not happen if the selection tool is chosen before a new text item
is made.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Text is visible after creation of another text item.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Formulate Pro Version 0.0.3
MacOSX Leopard 10.5.1
Please provide any additional information below.

Thanks for this bug. I wasn't able to repro it on my 10.4 machine, which is the 
only one I have with me. I will 
look into it soon on a 10.5 machine, tho.

If you had any additional info, it would be useful. Does it always happen with 
all PDFs? When you are creating 
new text items, do you click to create them, or drag to create them?

I can see it on 10.5.2.  It's intermittent.

I had the same problem. I just tried deleting the disappearing text and 
re-typing,
but that was not really good solution, worked at times and not at others.

I'm still unable to reproduce this problem. If you are able to still reproduce 
this problem, I could really use 
detailed steps to reproduce the problem. Alternatively, if you have some kind 
of screen-video capture, could 
you film a movie and email it to me? It might help clue me into what's going 
on. A simple point-and-shoot 
digital camera may suffice, or you could use the 30-day trial of 
http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ to capture a movie.

Once I can reproduce the problem, I can fix it, but it's difficult when 
everything works fine on my machine.

History: Just found the product and downloaded it to fill out a six-page 
document. 
Loved it except for seeing this bug.

Mac OS X v10.5.6 on iMac G5

Most of the items I created (click only, not click and drag) worked fine.  
Sometimes,
the current item would disappear when clicking to create the next item.  
Selecting
the original would show the text, but clicking off of that item would cause the 
text
to disappear.  Printing as-is would not print the invisible item.

Workaround:  I found that if I dragged the item at all, it would then appear
properly, so I found all of the invisible items and dragged them a pixel or two 
to
make them show.

Had the same problem as described above. Would create textbox to type, but once 
the
next textbox was made, the previous' text would disappear.  Thought it might be 
a
font color issue, but turned out it wasn't.  Fixed it by selecting the textbox 
using
the marquee tool.  It's a bit time consuming though and a bit impractical.  
Would
love to see this get fixed! 

Unfortunately, this is an inconsistent problem.  Out of the 3 pages I filled out
(50ish textboxes), about 20 had this problem.  The others worked fine.

I debugged this a lot today. The bad news is, I haven't fixed the problem yet.

But the good news is: I have finally found a 100% reliable repro case, so I can 
effectively test a fix. Also, I've 
verified that, at least in the case that I found, the bug does not appear on 
Snow Leopard. Also, the bug 
doesn't seem to happen at 100% zoom level (the default).

So, I'm going to try to get a fix out soon, but in the mean time you can use 
one of two work-arounds:
- Upgrade to Snow Leopard
- Stay at the default zoom level when opening a document

For future reference, the repro case is:
Open a doc, zoom out once, switch to text tool, click in point (29, 159) of the 
window, type "asdf", click in 
point (28, 143) of the window.

The issue has been fixed. It will go out shortly with the next release of 
FormulatePro (0.0.6).

It only seems to have affected Leopard. I didn't see a way to reproduce on 
Tiger, only Leopard.
