boot and recovery partition not detectable #2

Open ameer1234567890 opened 12 years ago

ameer1234567890 commented 12 years ago

boot and recovery partitions are not detectable on some devices for which /proc/mtd and /proc/emmc does not exist. Here is a zip file to flash in recovery for such devices. After flashing this file, run Online Nandroid as usual and it should detect and backup boot and recovery partitions.

WARNING: Do not flash a zip file which is not for your device. If you are unsure, ask in a comment.

kevingoris commented 9 years ago

do i need to flash these files or will it work with the patch from the app by it self? can i manually add these files with root or do i need a recovery to be added? as i cant find a recovery for my xt626.

E3V3A commented 9 years ago

If you already have or need the partition tables, please have a look here: El Grande Partition Table Reference ...and help me keep it updated for new devices.

karthick111 commented 9 years ago

Today I built a cm10 for Celkon A98 which is of mt6575 when I try to flash it says Unable to find the partitiin /emmc

SJMarty commented 9 years ago

Hi @ameer1234567890. First, that you for your continued efforts on this project. It is very much appreciated. The issue I'm seeing is backup completes successfully but when that backup is restore, the phone boots up with tons of "app not responding" messages to the point that it is not usable. Backup and restores in Recovery using TWRP work fine.

I have a T-Mobile Note 4...SM-N910T (TRLTETMO). Can you please, please take a look at this? I included the output of cat /proc/partitions and *ls -l /dev/block/platform//by-name**. Please let me know if you need anything else to help get this working. Thank you!

Hi. What should I download for Huawei honor 3c (H30 U10)?

scienex commented 9 years ago

two questions one general, one more specific

general question: will i have to flash this zip after every os (in my case cm12) update?

specific: will this fix the very annoying 'sbl1 partition doesn't exist' error that i get once every couple of days when booting in or from twrp on my galaxy s5? if so, i will love you forever (or as least for as long as i'll be using this phone)

the full error message reads:

boot recovery mode check boot partitions. . sbl1 partition doesn't exist odin mode product name: sm-g900f current binary: custom sytem status: custom reactivation lock(kk): off knox warranty void: 0x1 (0) qualcomm secureboot: enable (csb) rp swrev: s1, t1, r1, a1, p1 secure download : enable udc start

@bayasaa2015 What is the device name?

@daddy366 You can try manually copying onandroid file inside zip to /system/bin

@kevingoris It should work with the patch from the app itself.

@E3V3A Which device?

@karthick111 Is this related to Online Nandroid?

@SJMarty Thank you for the complements. Can you post log file inside backup folder?

@aqua20 Huawei honor 3c does not have a patch file yet. Can you send me log file inside backup folder, after running a backup. Do not try to restore with that backup, if you don't have a normal nandroid backup done within recovery itself.

@scienex A1: Yes. A2: No.

@SJMarty Can you also post log log file after restore from TWRP?

SJMarty commented 9 years ago

Yes sir. That file is 22 MB so here is a link to it on my Dropbox...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0no8ldrhpcgaezp/recovery.log?dl=0

Can you let me know when you have it so I can pull it down?

Thank you!!

SJMarty commented 9 years ago

Hi @ameer1234567890. I found something that appears significant. Running a Note 4 (SM-N910T) trltetmo. When backing up in recovery using TWRP, the EFS partition is backed up as "efs1.emmc.win" and is about 14 MB. When backing up using Onandroid, the EFS partition is backed up as "efs.ext4.win" and is less than 100 KB.

Dear Mister @ameer1234567890. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Duos G800H-DS. Model: SM-G800H; Device Type " kmini3g "; Bootloader Version: G800HXXU1ANGF In your list I found the " Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800F kminilte ". Unfortunately, I noticed the Model-Name not exactly. So I patched this " part_detect_tool.kminilte.zip ". Doing a backup it reports errors regarding the Boot-Partition and the Recovery-Partition. Thank you very much in advance for answering my request, and for your continued efforts on this project.

dayjobtitus commented 9 years ago

Any chance the S6 will get fully supported? Right now I see two but I think its missing some others including the TMO one.

SJMarty commented 9 years ago

The TMO Note 4 is not working. The backups complete but if a restore is done, tons of FCs on reboot. A good backup done from recovery is the only way to get it back. Any possibility of getting this fixed?

I'm unsure whether a device similar to the LG G Vista VS880 (codename vs880) is supported by the patch file for the LG G Vista VS880.

Information on the device in question: Item SKU: 6585A(LG G Vista - Indigo Black) Model number: LG-D631 Software version: D63110b

Can I please have an image prepared? There's a good chunk of people buying budget phones and those people are also trying to make Custom Recoveries and the like for it I believe. I would personally appreciate it if you did this. Thank you!

I appreciate your continued work on this effort. Would you please consider fixing the trltetmo partition layout? This is for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910T). I've posted several messages in this thread over the past few months with all of the requested information but it's still not working correctly. If you could look at this again, I'd be very appreciative. Thank you!
