When I'm building a diagram, it's easy to jump around to a bunch of different thoughts, and forget what I was originally trying to do. For example, I might be trying to brainstorm causes of a problem, but then I think of a solution, so I want to add it and some details about it. Then I might go down a rabbit hole about that solution or thoughts from that, and forget that I was trying to brainstorm problem causes. It seems a bit inefficient to remember the context for what you were originally doing.
Describe the solution you'd like
A banner that specifies what the current goal is would probably make it easier to stay focused and/or return to the focus when going a bit off track. For now, it should be sufficient to have a toolbar button for focusing (bullseye icon?) that pops up a banner with editable text.
It could also be nice to have specific focuses to choose from (e.g. "Writing down big ideas", "Investigating question: (question text)", "Brainstorm causes of problem: (problem text)"), but that should be doable later.
Questions:
is "focus" the best word for this? Another use for the word "focus" would be "focus mode" where the diagram only displays neighbors to the currently-selected node
