This is wrong:

Tobacco and Smoking -> tobacco (material) Does the Gilcrease have an ATF license to hold tobacco? ;-)

This is right:

aat:300236658 equipment for smoking and tobacco use

Patricia: It's not a "term," it's a phrase. There is no warrant for that phrase as a term. I can add "smoking equipment" I guess as a separate term under the GT. Would that help?
Vladimir: Gilcrease AAC Classification Mapping (8.2.16).xlsx has "Tobacco and Smoking", i.e. it's a classification that they use for their objects. Isn't the existence of a classification value warrant enough? Or it has to be found in running text?

Patricia: It has to be a discrete concept, and found in multiple sources.And this classification doesn't say "tobacco and smoking equipment". Won't "smoking equipment" work? I can't find warrant for "tobacco equipment," but perhaps could do so. Usually for a term with "and", it will be very hard to find warrant.
- PS: Update, I can find warrant for "tobacco accessories" as a term, which could replace "tobacco and smoking equipment" as a GT. Should I do it? Please advise.
Vladimir: Gilcrease's term is just "Tobacco and smoking". Maybe you could add terms "Tobacco and smoking accessories" and "Smoking and tobacco accessories" and make it a concept?

Patricia and Valdimir, Thank you for your helpful comments! This batch of archaeological material was catalogued a very, very long time ago, and we will soon be reworking all of the classifications. Most of these items are pipes, pipe platforms or pipe bowls.

I see there are about 4 items with this classification problem, so please change this to "tobacco accessories", as Patricia suggests.

P.S. There are some other classification errors to attend to with this batch of Anthropological material as well.

Looking at the hierarchy and until Patricia makes it a concept, I think you should use

pipes, if you can't distinguish the 3 kinds you mention above
pipes and pipe bowls, if you can distinguish them
