All Apps not available idea #147

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

Sometimes Apps can be side loaded and work great on GTV sometimes not. Why
not open up the Play Store to all Apps and give a warning msg.instead of
blocking. ie: "This App has not been optimized for your device! If you
experience an issue please uninstall it and or contact the dev to request a GTV
version of the App be released."

This has the potential to kick start App development for GTV!

Or how about giving users the option to open up the entire Play Store in
settings as this would keep users who don't know what they are doing from
messing around.

The main issue is in the Manifests for the app. If they mark
"requireTouchScreen" as true, then it doesn't show as available in the play
store. The bigger issue is that the play store isn't showing all GTV apps (at
least on the device itself). You only see Free apps, you don't see the Pay
apps unless they are featured apps. That is the bigger issue that needs to be
resolved.

This is a problem that can be fixed with crowd-sourcing data. Google should be
good at this.
