channel won't change. How do I fix that?

Sometimes my tv freezes...but not really. It is bravo b/c that is what I was 
watching last night. I cannot change the channel to anything. The volume works. 
The on/off works. I have unplugged the box and started it up again. I assume 
the problem will resolve itself? It has happened before. Remote blinks when I 
attempt to do anything so i don't think it is the battery. Only the volume and 
on off and mute button work. Thanks, Elizabeth .
