GTV needs Flash 11. Recently one of the best web sites (PBS.org) has made a
change and is requiring Flash 11 to view their videos. This essentially shuts
out all GTV users from one of the best web sites. Also the FOX web site now
requires Flash 11 - as well as some other YouTube videos and web sites. Please
update the Flash version with GTV. Thank you.

I second the need for a Flash 11 update. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. Flash eventually will be deprecated on Google TV and
developers are encouraged to use HTML5 videos.

Sites like PBS that require Flash 11 don't work on Google TV. No Flash 11
update is expected.

I second the request above, GTV needs the latest flash version. The device is
made to blend TV and Web (more precisely web video) into the same picture. And
it slowly start to be useless for the web video part.

I understand that HTML5 is the future but I believe Flash support is needed for
another year or two, maybe more. Please update Google TV to Flash 11.

html5 is not yet widely accepted by media sites. one of my primary reasons for
purchasing google TV was its ability to play flash content. without flash,
google TV fails to differentiate itself from players like the PlayStation and
Xbox. several years ago, a large company that sells smart phones said flash was
old and useless. that company lost market shares to Android as a result. I
would hate to think google will follow in their footsteps.

The thing about HTML5 apps is that the GTV user base is so small - that not
enough developers want to be bothered with developing apps for GTV. How many
major new apps from content sources have been added to GTV since the Honeycomb
update? Miniscule if any.....

In the meantime Flash is still by far the predominant way most web sites offer
their web videos for streaming. Flash content is still king on the internet.

So what we have is a lack of GTV app development for any significant new
content - along with a shrinking amount of content available from web sites
(that are leaving GTV behind by updating to Flash 11). GTV needs Flash 11 to
bridge the gap. Heck even some excellent YouTube videos require Flash 11 now.
HTML5 is not yet ready for prime time.

IMO not very good........

It may be "deprecated" and developers may be encouraged to use HTML5 but right
now Flash is one of the primary ways to view video on the web. Had I known you
weren't going to continue to support Flash I wouldn't have bought the device to
begin with. Come on Google you're better than this

Inability to play content because of Flash issue puts our Google TV devices on
par with Betamax players. I suspect Google knows that and it's the course for
GTV. How about firmware update to update Chrome browser to play flash
please...........

It's really bogus. You can't get hulu on google tv. Now everybody's going to
flash 11 and video content is being restricted even more! Please quit denying
developers are still using flash! For god's sake, Comcast is using flash11,
isn't the point of google tv to merge tv and the internetm?!

You will need to take the issue up with Adobe. Please refer to:

This is so frustrating. I can't even watch Comcast on my Google tv. First Hulu,
CBS, etc - now even ESPN, Xfinity and the rest. No apps on Google Play are
compatible with NSZ-GT1. Basically a piece of garbage

Adobe is also abandoning Flash updates for Linux computers. However Google and
Adobe teamed up for a special Flash plug-in for the Chrome browser (It's called
the Pepper API). Here is the link (see below)to a blog on the Adobe web site
about how Adobe and Google worked together for the Pepper Flash plug-in for
Chrome:

http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/02/adobe-and-google-partnering-for-flash
-player-on-linux.html

I don't understand why something similar couldn't be worked out for Chrome
browsers running on ARM architecture?

The Adobe blog about it's intentions mentioned that it's better for mobile
devices to use Adobe Air apps = how many Adobe Air apps are there currently on
Google TV 2 or 3? (A touch of sarcasm here...)

I purposely bought Google TV to work with Flash. It seems that I have been
misled by Google and Adobe. I am so angry and feel totally misled and let down.
I wish I could have a refund but it is too late.
I trusted Google for the first time and feel let down.
I'll never buy Google again.

stream any hockey.

My Android phone has Flash 11.1. Why can't my gtv box which runs Android also
have it as well, doesn't make sense.

What are you thinking? You don't have Hulu or You don't have Amazon HD, the
browser is restricted in what it will play, and now YouTube may have limited
usefulness. Who do you think will buy this box? Netflix users? I don't think
so.

Please try and find a way to get this fixed.

I would love to know more detail about why you are happy to allow this
aggravation to destroy your reputation with GTV customers. I feel like there
has to be more to tell than the "go to HTML5" message which just makes you look
bad.

Adding to the list. SiriusXM is also now going to Flash 11. This box is
becoming stand alone more and more. In that case what is the point.. Is there
going to be any improvements on the firmware? or are we stuck with incompatible
app's and unsupported websites?
