MUI is using the system SELECTPEN and SELECTTEXTPEN pens. Change the system pens accordingly.
We do not have this pens under OS3 environment And even if we do, via VisualPrefs they are not set to PINK! At least in my test case there is no PINK in any settings. So it is selecting some bogus colours.
Ideally the setting should be similar to Oliver Wagners string gadget (AmIRC) With settings for all colour of the gadget.
You did not mention AmigaOS3 at all in the original report. The version was set to "4.0-nightly build" and the system was set to "All". Nightly builds of MUI4 are available for AmigaOS4 only. How should I know that you are not referring to AmigaOS4?
Enabling the "Use VisualPrefs colors" option definitely gives you the colors as they are defined in VisualPrefs. See screenshot.

Ok, we are referring to MUI colours then, since there we do have a MWB pink. But this means we can not change it if it is hard coded to use that pen! And it's not very intuitive either.

Michael created the issue:
We have configuration of cursor colour and string background colour.
But what about configuration of text colour and selected text colours ?
Or we are stuck with white text and pink fill when we select text?
