How about this? Give WinFF itself the ability to play a wav/mp3 file, or just
the
default system beep. Could the SDL multimedia library simplify this? Then make
it so
when WinFF is run with a special command line parameter, it plays the sound and
then
quits without ever showing the window. Perhaps there could also be a pop-up
window
with a little message like, "Encoding Complete." At the end of the script,
execute
WinFF with the special parameter.

I guess we could insert an ffmplay command with a specified file at the end of
the conversion.
I expect it would be cross platform...
Again, if Matt approves, I will give it a go.

If you just run a batch file at the end, we can add many useful things.
