Additional option to keep phone screen on all the time when VLC remote is
running.
Right now the phone needs to be unlocked every time user wants to pause/rewind
the movie.

This shouldn't be too complicated.
Maybe author of Amarok2 remote will be willing to share his part of source
code, he already has it implemented:

and has no problems with sharing the source code:

The screen typically draws a lot of power; I'm not sure if your phone's battery
would make it through the movie :) If you have a charger nearby, you can
enable "Applications -> Development -> Stay awake".

Sure, the screen would probably drain the battery quite quickly.

So maybe some option to prevent screen from locking? Screen turn off is fine,
but when the phone locks it takes to many steps to get back to the remote
controls.

I suggest saving battery by allowing the screen to dim, but don't let it shut
off completely.

I think it's useful feture. I'm using your program to control vlc, which is
installed in my car, so this function would be very nice. The phone is always
docked on charger, so there are no problems with power.
