FYI, the acronym stands for Graphics Interchange Format, not General Interchange Format.
Xaml is pronounced "zamel".
Really? I say gzamel, as it should be.

What about extensible? (As in XML, or XAML)
There is no rule that acronyms need to be pronounced like the letters in the words they come from. Other examples include the "U" in "SCUBA" or the "A" in "LASER". This is even true for the starting letters as in "ACORN".
what about graphics
What about regex for regular expressions, @lrz?
Checkmate.
Don't tell me you pronounce it rejex
? :-)
Wait, it's not pronounced rejex
? Perhaps we need to open another issue?
The image format is pronounced GIF, but an image using that format is pronounced GIF.
Well actually, it’s pronounced like “jive” and rhymes with “dive”
weighing in as @amirrajan requested .... 242.3 lbs and pronouncing it "gif" ... and not really caring how everyone else pronounces it .... cuz i know they are wrong :p
and don't try trapping me with this "rejex" business :-)
@Ang3lFir3 :
@madrobby , I'm totally adding that gif to rgif.io. I needed a good showdown gif. :-)

@dahlbyk :
It's quite simple. You save an image using JIF, which creates a GIF.
@dahlbyk:
Keep it civil. Obviously, it's pronounced with a soft g. Per Wikipedia:
Respect the creators of the format, and pronounce it as they would have wanted.
