Adios cannot be built at present without MPI. Also it seems that G2 requires MPI. This is probably impossible to fix easily.
Mac OSX does not have cp --parents. On stack exchange they recommend use rsync instead.

@JunoRavin @manauref You are responsible for fixing the Mac build of the g0-app-merge branch. Makefile is failing due to the issue filed by @johnson452. I do not have a Mac and so can't fix. I can help debug this but I can't fix.

In general, we need to have people taking responsibility for the platforms they feel they want to support. Linux is the deployment platform and so of course that will be supported but everything else (Mac & WSL) is up to other individuals to maintain.
