Thanks again. This one was merely mis-transcribed due to poor handwriting in the catalog. I've also updated it in our database. Tom Trombone AMNH Ornithology

Cool. I figure most of the old records with small issues like this are just as likely due to poor handwriting as misspellings -- to say nothing of alternate spellings!

On another note, although I have not completed all of the Georgia specimens in the collection at AMNH, I have entered GPS coords. for a good number of them at this point. I have completed the GA specimens in full from ANS, USNM, DMNH, TTRS, GMNH, and a few smaller institutions as well. MCZ is the most challenging, with well over 2000 from Georgia!

Anyway, while your VertNet dataset has already been plotted/geoverified to a certain level, if you'd like me to send you the Lat/Long for what I've done so far you are welcome to check them against yours, use them as you need, etc. I have been working on a long-term project to bring all extant specimens from Georgia all-time together in a single spreadsheet, and I've dug pretty hard to find localities as accurately as possible. However, just like VertNet, there are a good number that I can't plot any better than city or county level.
