AMNH SKIN 676018 is indeed shelved in our collection as Pica pica bactriana, even though it was recorded in our catalog (and hence our database) as Pica pica bottanensis. The only name written on this skin’s labels can be seen In the attached image; it appears to read Pica rustica. I will update this specimen’s name in our database to bactriana.

I believe this must be bactriana that also occurs further east in Ladakh - bottanensis does not occur this fast west

Attached are images (front and back) of the original label attached to AMNH SKIN 676018.
Thank you very much - Pica rustica is apparently an old scientific name for Magpies.
thanks & best rgds Praveen
