Please check once - this and the next specimen in this series. All specimens by this collector are from Myanmar - and this location might also be in Myanmar - tag might have read 'India' when the countries were together. Thanks & best rgds Praveen

I checked the original labels for these two skins (AMNH SKIN 666272 and 666273) and neither has a country name recorded on it. Attached are photos of these labels. Also attached is a list of all seven birds in our database collected by Hauxwell in April 1892. I suspect "Thonnyim" and the other variations herein are misspellings of "Thaungyin Valley" in Myanmar.

Thank you very much for looking into this issue - I concur with your alternate suggestion - month of collection also matches.

But I do not have much visibility into alternate names for locations in Myanmar but I can tell you that I am unable to find a close-enough name from NE India. "Myanmar ?" could be used instead of India ?

thanks & best rgds Praveen

I have updated these localities in the AMNH database to reflect the fact that they are correctly located in Myanmar, and I've noted that the bird with locality "India: ?" was also likely collected in Myanmar.

Best regards, Tom
