I can't find out how to turn the keyboard on on the HTC desire - anyone?

To enable the keyboard, go to Settings -> Language & keyboard (in 2.x, Locale &
text
in 1.x) -> Check Scandinavian keyboard. Then go to a textfield. Hold down at
the
textfield, choose Input Method, and then Scandinavian keyboard. Does it work
for you
now?

Scandinavian keyboard is checked in Settings -> Language & keyboard?
Which options do you get if you press and hold at a textfield and select Input
Method?
If Scandinavian keyboard is in that list: what happens when you select it?

its not showing norwegian at all
let me explain. My Legend is 1 day old so I am trying to get used to it, so if
you
could help me to understand what you mean by text field etc I much appreciate
it :)

Actually I've just found scandinavian keyboard layout and chosen that. But under
keyboard language it still not showing.

You shouldn't go to Keyboard language. That is only for the default keyboard.
A textfield is a place where you can write text. Go to Messaging, where you
would
normally type a SMS. Instead of typing something, press at the box where the
letters
normally appear and wait until a box appears. In that box, there should be an
item
that says "Input Method". Press that and you get a new list. In that list there
should
be an item "Scandinavian keyboard". Press this.

Have heard about it before. I think it is a bug with Sense. Try to reboot your
phone,
and then try to remove it again.

Seems like this issue is resolved. In version 1.4.3 it's possible to open it
from
Market to see better instructions, so it should be easier to activate for new
users.
