Support for compound words using dictionary

I don't know how it is in the other scandinavian countries, but in Denmark we 
use "compound words" (don't know the exact term - the concept isn't widely used 
in the english language) all the times.

Say, writing the word "mail box" would be written "mailbox", in one word. 
(maybe not the best example, but hey!)

However, many of these words does not "exist" in a dictionary, since "any 
combination" is allowed. (do you still follow?!)

So, when typing compound words, I always have to enter the "second" word 
without dictionary assistance. And that's a shame.

Hence, my suggestion is as follows:

1) Positioning the cursor manually after (or before) another word and start 
typing should begin using the dictionary _for the newly entered word only_.

And/or:

2) Having written "word one" of the compound word, and pressing the word in the 
"dictionary suggestion line" should trigger that I can now continue writing 
"word two" with assistance from the dictionary.

Same goes for the German language.
Example: 'Haustür' means front door and 'Schlüssel' means key. So 
'Haustürschlüssel' means the key to the front door. If I want to swipe this 
compound word with Google Keyboard, I have to swipe both words separately, then 
use the cursor to manually go back behind the 'S' of 'Schlüssel' delete it and 
the space before and type a 's' and again manually place the cursor at the end 
of the new compound word. This is not at all user friendly!
