Unknown Symbol in HG10 #119

What does turning this on and off do in HG10?

Btw. Please keep up the great work! This application is a lifesaver for me as my workplace uses Google hangouts for messaging.

Also, as you can see the symbol currently shows "off" in the picture. Does this mean it is currently off or does this mean it will be turned off when you click it?
