This mod already adds the ability to replace armor from the hotbar, but the hotbar is valuable real-estate, and you're unlikely to keep a full set of armor there, likely just an elytra for emergencies. If you want to quickly switch out an armor set, it would be nice to shift click the armor into armor slots to replace whatever you're wearing.
