2 months ago There are several different method used to calculate CCT. Each has pros/cons. I'd have to check what is being used in this code but I would assume it's probably McCamy's cubic approxiation method, because it is simple and quick to implement. However, it might be good to add later support for multiple methods, such as:
- NIST Method, Parabolic fit
- McCamy's Cubic Approximation (1992)
- Robertson's Method (1968)
- Hernandez-Andres, Lee, & Romero (1999)
I've found that the online tool doesn't calculate CCT correctly as my spectrometer and other tools give me a different CCT value for my spd data. I'm no expert but I think this is not optimal for accurate results. I only tested daylight balanced lights.
