I have added a number of checks to the AMR Checker, particularly related to names, largely motivated by our plans to wikify names in collaboration with RPI and UofIL.
Examples of issues that the AMR Checker now targets:
Make sure that names are properly capitalized in the AMR, even if they are not in the original text, as is often the case in the proxy data, which has been true-cased automatically.
Example from raw text: Daan van beeck
AMR: (p / person :name (n / name :op1 "Daan" :op2 "van" :op3 "Beeck"))
It's ok to leave usernames (common in web data) in lower case. But strip off the "@" prefix.
Example form raw text: @jcboy
AMR: (p / person :name (n / name :op1 "jcboy"))
AMR Checker searches for suspicious NE types, such as "gpe" (which should be changed to a more specific type such as "city" or, as a last resort, to "location") or "party" (which more often than not should actually by "political-party").
Concepts such as "president" and "chairman" should not be NE types, but should be handled using have-org-role-91.
