I've got the same problem on an Anet A8 plus. It can read the EEPROM fine, but when attempting to write it warns something like 'this is not compatible with your machine' and disconnects the printer. It worked fine last time I tried it with my previous Marlin based printer. Any diagnostics I can run to help diagnose?
I've been doing an update to my Anet A8 printer by installing a RAMPS 1.6+ board. All seemed to be going well until I tried to tweak the firmware settings using the Marlin EEPROM Editor plugin. Prior to this, I never had an issue using the plugin. Now, I get the following message each time I try to upload changes:
Error reported by printer
Your printer's firmware reported an error. Due to that OctoPrint will disconnect. Reported error: EEPROM disabled
There is no error when I download from the eeprom, just when I attempt to upload.
Help?!?
