Why not dropping the GUI and just working on the daemon + web interface?

I've seen other projects making similar choices and benefiting greatly. Couple of examples:

• https://www.duplicati.com/
• https://www.pgadmin.org/
• https://www.plex.tv/

Given the limited resources available for the development it might be a valuable option.

Plus given the nature of the program, which is basically about running most of the time in the background, such a choice would not dramatically impact the user experience, at least in my opinion.

I would like to use the opportunity of this post also to thank the people maintaining and developing this awesome project!
