Over the course of my research, I've played quite a few minigames. They range from simple red\black picks to a maze solving of some sort /unfortunately I forgot the name of the slot/.
Minigames can be capped or go on forever. I've seen games with a red\black that had a cap of five tries. Most of them allow you to play as much as you want until you lose.
Minigames may contribute in the form of one-offs /contributing immediately and only to your win/, or accumulative /contributing not only to your win but to another minigame aspect of the game/.
Minigames can be stacked and\or nested. You chance a red\black game during a free spins game you won during another free spins game.
Naturally, they may /and mostly do/ require UIs of their own.
