reading crit mediation

I think this chapter was really interesting and I think it might be stronger if it also included images to illustrate some of the points throughout the chapter as well as break up some of the text. For example, I think it might be helpful to add an image to reflect information architecture so the reader has an idea of what this might look like in real life.  In reading through the Mediating communication section of the chapter, I wonder if there might be a way to further elaborate and explain more about why and how this missing social context usually leads to computer-mediated communication to be more dysfunctional. Hopefully, I’m not just being dense but I’m not quite sure I understood how it can be more dysfunctional. Finally, near the end of Chapter 3 you say that when we learn interfaces that mediate communication, we’re learning to convey and interpret new cues for social context. I think it might be stronger to provide a real-world example of a new cue for social context to help further illustrate this point. I was asking myself this question when I read this and I wanted to know more about what you meant by that!
