Clarification between hand tracking and gestures. The differences between hand-tracking and gesture interface don't stand out. Furthermore, hand-tracking is defined as "gesture-based systems look at patterns in hand motion to recognize a set of discrete poses or GESTURES". Doesn't that mean they are the same thing?
From the definitions of gesture and hand-tracking, the video "Hand tracking system from Microsoft Research. With precise tracking, hands can be used to manipulate virtual widgets. Credit: (Taylor et al. 2007 (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.)" seem to be an example of a gesture recognition system, not a tracking system.
In many ways, pens are just another type of mouse: an input device. Is there any reason why we include pen in this chapter but we don't include the mouse?
