changes to set up #167

Hi Zoe! Can you remove your changes to settings.py and remove the files env and debug from this pull request?

This PR has the original settings.py without my changes (though that's how I'm getting it to work locally). I removed env and debug from this PR but I'm also still using them locally. (This might become an issue).
