Dead brick after firmware upgrade #262

Closed dizcza closed 2 years ago

When I plugged in the device for the first time, it lighted up with blue. Then I followed the tutorial: opened pixelpulse2 and upgraded to the latest version. Disconnected and plugged in, and it's not working anymore! This is so frustrating because upgrading is explicitly mentioned on your official web page as "the way to go".

How to unbrick it? How to check if it's alive?

dizcza commented 2 years ago

Bricked behavior: the blue light is not lit when I plug it in. And I see no corresponding connected USB device on my linux host.

Anyone experiencing a similar issue is referred to https://ez.analog.com/adieducation/university-program/f/q-a/564568/unbricking-adalm1000-rev-d.

But please, add a section in README warning the users that

The upgrade from Rev D and older might result in your device being unresponsive/unrecognized. To un-brick the device, do this and this.

Otherwise, there is literally no official info about such cases, and I googled only one similar case to mine.
