Accolade Turrican MD cartridge does not boot #11

Cartridge Turrican MD by Accolade does not start whatever system hardware region I select. The cart is an EU version albeit it is supposed to be region free.

The cart works perfect on an original Megadrive JP model 1. On that system, the cart first boots onto the TMSS screen ("produce by or by licence... ), before showing the Ballistic label screen. Then the game plays fine. What is curious it that if I load the rom from that game onto the jailbreak genesis core, the game works fine but does not show the TMSS screen but right away the Ballistic label screen...

I have not yet tested previous firmware but only 7.9/4.9 version nor did I try using a pass-through cartridge like a gamegenie/megakey. Cartridge is obviously clean etc and I tried multiple times on the Mega SG with no luck (works every single time onto an original MD1).

A quick edit on the issue: the cartridge works on Mega SG under firmware 4.6 ; Using 4.7 or above it does not. I have not yet tested pass-through carts.
