Multiple Computers Syncing to same drive #218

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Sync to a network share or jump drive
2. Sync another computer to that same drive
3. Watch as the computer in step 1 gets the tags from computer 2

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect each computer to keep track of its own tags, maybe via the
%username% or some other unique identifier.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0 / Win7 x64 (both computers)

Please provide any additional information below.
As stated above, basically what happens is if two people are utilizing the
same drives, Syncless "forgets" what computer its on and has the tags of
the other computer.

I've been using syncless to sync my music & pictures to my network share
for me.
For my girlfriend, I've been using it to sync her pictures and school
stuff.
Unfortunately, on my computer its now got her picture & her documents tags!
Since the directory structure doesn't exist, it doesn't seem to actually do
anything, which is good.

Please paste the debug.log found in root Syncless folder(if any) below.
(Please
filter off any data that you do not want other people to see with "#")
debug.log was empty

hmm this is currently a known issue and will be fixed. Glad to hear that now it
works with network drive.

as a temporary fix, please go to the tagging.xml file inside your application
folder, change the profile name to something different.
*Note* As of version 2.1, this feature is not tested extensively yet, and may
cause unexpected result in the tags that you have.
