Paths disappear from tags when a drive is not available #222

I am trying to use syncless to sync between c: and external USB drives. I Also
tried it between c: and mapped network drives (NAS). In both cases, when the
external drive became unavailable, the path was removed from the tag - making
the sync stop. I believe that the path should never be removed from a tag
except manually by a user.

Yes I am having the same experience. I've mapped to a network drive. When it is
there, then all is fine, but if the target PC is off and you re-start syncless,
then the target dissapears. After this, no matter how many restarts you do, or
make sure he target is available, it never comes back unless you manually sync.

Interestingly, the config still exists in the "tagging.xml" file. And the
"isDelete" setting is false.

Can sync less ping any missing target every 1 or 2 minutes to see if they are
back?

Thanks.

Hi,
Syncless wasn't originally made to work with network drive. However, due to some of the users' miracle discovery, a workaround was found and it kind of work with network drive.
As for the original problem state by kristian, i need more information. If you are still using Syncless, could you provide me with more information, like the debug.log.

I have the same problem - I sync successfully with a laptop but if the laptop
goes out of range or shuts down, I have to re-tag the sync folders. Very
annoying, and the main reason I may not continue using Syncless. It's a
brilliant way of syncing, when it works!

Also, I have downloaded v2.1 but it says I have v2.0 !

Thanks.

What was the work around that kind of works?

I really enjoy Syncless but I do need this ability.

Many Thanks.

Hi, To be honest, we stop maintaining Syncless a while back. This was part of a
school project and I am very surprised and honoured that there are people still
using it.

The work around that people found was to map the network drive to a drive
letter. Look at Issue #211 for more information.

Cheers
