Description of the Bug Several switches or check boxes doesn't in effect in aroma installation program.

How To Reproduce Install the ROM, tick some bloatware, tick the LTE box, choose China CSC

Expected Behaviour I ticked the box to have it show LTE but it still shows 4G. The CSC I choose is China (or CHC? I can't remember it), is that relevant?

I suspect it was China CSC had this specific flag being hard coded, probably edit CSC files would be able to change that.

if u are using root u can try to check the files inside folder odm/etc/omc/CHC/conf (if chc is ur csc)

Hello, i was informed about this on the group recently by lazybri, CHC was out of date, and we were missing TGY (hongkong) CSC, Floyd-CHC-TGY.zip

attached is updated files needed to have TGY, and the latest CHC csc available. this is NOT a flashable zip, to install 1- Unzip the ROM on your computer preferably with winrar or 7zip 2- unzip the CHC-TGY zip 3- copy floyd and meta-inf from the unpacked Floyd-CHC-TGY.zip to where you extracted the ROM, and overwrite existing files when prompted 4- zip the rom (so select all the folders, system floyd meta-inf and so on) then compress with either winrar or 7zip, make sure the extension is .zip and compression is set to5 if the option is there 5- Flash the ROM and select either CHC or TGY

if you use hongkong SIM you need to select TGY, when sim requests a CSC that is not available, it will use default settings and not what the AROM is using, so possibly you are using a HK simcard, and it tried to use TGY, but there is no TGY

so select it manually, and try again and hopefully it will work this time.

Thank you for answering and those files, I'm using China SIM (China Unicom) and CHC CSC, I put those files inside the ROM and repacked it, but it still shows 4G and five signal bars even if I unticked the five bar and ticked LTE icon. I think it's relevant with a CSC feature that look like ConfigOpBranding or what, and I tested if you set the value to CHN Open then it will show 5 bars and 4G.

I'm trying to enable China Unicom VoLTE and Chinese Samsung Keyboard on stock N935F Pie XID rom but I failed. CTC VoLTE works but I don't need it. Is there anything that I missed?

check if ur cscfeature file contains the line

LTE

if not, try to add this line.

It's already inside the file, but it still shows 4G, good samsung Screenshot_20240203-141222_MT Manager

u r really sure to edit the right csc provider files?

for me it is working fine Screenshot_20240203-075855_Styx Browser

3104NEIL commented 8 months ago

i think it should be CHC, and this is CHC CSC's cscfeature.xml

RobertoWa commented 8 months ago

what i would personally do is to test if another setting in the file takes effect. to make sure that this csc is really active. but maybe you have already done that.

I'm sure that it is. I'm gonna change the OpBrandingIndicatorIcon into US' Option to check it out

Now it shows LTE, and VoLTE is able to use after an Airplane Mode switching. It's relative to CHC Indicator Icon and can't be overwrited by the OverrideIcon feature. Weird Samsung. And because I changed the IndicatorIcon into XAA format, there's no more network service standard indicator showing when I'm using Wi-Fi. Just like Pixel and other Android Distro's status bar. It only shows when I'm surfing with Cellular Data. image
