Rules table is not displayed after import #45

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Eclipse LogViewer rules preference page
2. Import rules from xml file
3. Select any other preference page
4. Click OK to close preference popup
5. Open preference page
6. Select Eclipse LogViewer rules preference page
7. No rules are shown but the scrollbar is visible

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is to see a list of the rules I have imported from my xml
file.

Instead I see a blank list with no titles. But if I have entered a list that is
larger than the original window the scrollbar is still shown.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Eclipse LogViewer Version: 0.9.8.6
OS: Windows XP
Eclipse version: 3.5

Please provide any additional information below.

I executed the steps you described and connot see the problem, because if you
execute the point "4. Click OK to close preference popup" than changes are
applied to log viewer preference page and it works. If you Click to "Cancel" in
point 4. instead than the imported changes are not applied, because the
preference page was not notified. For me it works like expected -> user must
click Apply in the log viewer preference page or OK in main preference page to
apply the changes. What do you think about it?

After some test i can see the problem too: if one use menu "Window ->
Preferences" and some other page is displayed, the page "Log Viewer -> Rules"
will show an empty list, but export, import and add rules are working. Also if
one click on "Show rule preferences" button from Log Viewer view it shows the
rules again. Hm, strange, investigating...

Hi,

Yes, everything is working fine with the rules. The only problem that for a
certain way of viewing the preferences they are not shown. This is quite
annoying since it's the "standard" way of viewing Eclipse preferences..
