Problems with editing preferences on Win2k #57

Original Savannah ticket 7330 reported by gbrocker on Sat Oct 07 12:10:15 2006.

Hi,

I'm using Eclox successfully with a Linux installation of Eclipse. In addition I'm using Eclox with a Windows (Win2k) installation of Eclipse. It works fine too, but when editing the preferences I have the following problems:

Although doxygen can be executed (by Eclox) without specifying its path in the preferences, Eclox is not able to display the version of doxygen in the preferences page. Instead I get a message box saying "The currently displayed page contains invalid values." and I'm not able to change the displayed page. When choosing the path where the "doxygen.exe" is installed (like: "C:\Programme\doxygen\bin") I get a hint that the "Value must be an existing file". Ok, when I'm choosing the full path including the file's name (like: "C:\Programme\doxygen\bin\doxygen.exe") I get the following hint: "Doxygen was not found at the given path.".

In my opinion here is something wrong.

Regards, Torge

I must confes, I have not much tested eclox on win2k, nor winXP.

Could you just confirm that you are telling about eclox 0.5.4 ?

Well, I finally got my windows running again and I was able to perform some tests to find out where this bug comes from.

But I was not able to reproduce it at all. First case, doxygen.exe was in the path, eclox found it. Second case, doxygen.exe was not in the path, eclox complain about it, but no more after inputing the full path to doxygen.exe.

You must have entered a wrong path. Are you still encountering the bug ? Could you please tell me which dixygen version you are using ?

Finally, the point I could enhance is to change the full path to doxygen.exe for the path of the directory where doxygen.exe lies.

Hi,

I'm wondering about your experiences. I checked again: Eclipse tells me having Eclox 0.5.4 installed. And I have the described behaviour and problems. I uninstalled Eclox, performed a reinstall and - everything works fine. It seems that I had a broken installation. I hope that you havn't spent too much time to find out, that everything is ok. I'm sorry about that. Thanx for spending your time on all of my "bugs".

Best regards, Torge

I spent time mostly to bring my samba server up in order to acces my data on win2k, but I was running nicely in minutes.

Bug reports are always welcome, its a way to improve eclox.

Guillaume / happy to see happy eclox users
