Suggested update to the The 4 Vs of Big Data: add Value to the list and change title to The 5 Vs of Big Data.

I'm a big fan of the original classic 4 Vs of big data. Adding more Vs does not make sense in my view. There are versions with 20 Vs which is just stupid

While I agree that some publications are inflating the Vs of big data with properties that are not useful, I think that value is an important property of big data. Projects that collect, process and store data should be able to justify why that data is needed: it should be a strategic asset that brings business value and creates a competitive advantage and justifies the costs of the work. It should also not be a liability that puts an organization at risk of violating legislation like GDPR or CCPA (California consumer privacy act) or creating damaging negative publicity.
