As with all good problem posts lets start with the system it is running on this is my personal laptop and it's an air because when I bought it it was just for sending invoices, reading emails and watching copious amounts of Netflix (what else are you going to do as a freelancer)
I know they can only support one external display and as a side note was wondering if when I hopefully get this all sorted I can support SVS and an external projector? I'm guessing not but if this would ever be run in anger it would be run on a work MacBook Pro, I would just like to dick about with it at home.
So right, here are the details of the system.
OSX El Capitan
Version 10.11.1
MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014)
Processor 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536MB
So, now to the problem.
When I installed the app it got all the way to registering updates (or something along those line and then the screen said "The installation failed, The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Opened my Apps and there in the apps is the SVS logo. So I click on it to see what happens and the computer instantly crashes and restarts. It told me it needed to restart before it would run so maybe this is the restart it needed to do. Open up apps again, this time it doesn't crash and a little icon appears in my menu bar but seconds later it disappears.
Now, all signs point to the fact it has just shut itself down. Looked at the applications that are open and it is gone. But I go over to VPT7 and in the syphon sources it is there Syphon Virtual Screen. Showing a black screen.
Right,
