Expected key file size 158 bytes does not match.....please help on this issue

Same here, I am using whatsapp 2.12.510 and the key is 158 bytes. I have been decrypting whatsapp backups these days succesfully and they keys were 22 Mb and the other was 158 bytes too, both worked. I don't know what is the issue, but I cannot run whatsapp viewer without the error message

Strange. So your key file is 158 bytes and WhatsApp Viewer complains it is not? Can you provide me a sample to andreas.mausch@gmail.com? Thanks.

Couldn't reproduce, will close this until somebody can provide me a failing sample.

Hello, I got unzipping error while trying to decrypt a matching example with a 158-byte key. I will send you to your e-mail some failing examples.

Hi Got the same problem ... seems like NTFS saves very small files different (mft) aka filesize is reported 158b but size on drive is reported 0 ...

found a solution ...

made a fat32 or exfat partition and was able to use tool as expected. and filesize on drive was 512 b because blocksize but it worked ...
