B2G on the Nexus S I9023, using the ICS based firmware, only seems to work with the I9020A UCKE1 baseband. Trying to use the stock 4.0.3 XXKI1 baseband causes the phone to have problems registering with the network when using B2G. Running on either stock 4.0.3 or cyanogenmod 9 nightly, the phone works fine with XXKI1 baseband.

According to usage reports, the UCKE1 baseband seems to work better with TMobile than ATT sim cards.

When trying to register with a T-Mobile network using XXKI1, we actually get the numeric ID for the operator, but the short/long names remain mangled:

I/Gecko ( 87): RIL Worker: New incoming parcel of size 44 I/Gecko ( 87): RIL Worker: Parcel (size 44): 0,0,0,0,39,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,3,0,0,0,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,6,0,0,0,51,0,49,0,48,0,50,0,54,0,48,0,0,0,0,0 I/Gecko ( 87): RIL Worker: We have at least one complete parcel. On a CM9 phone, operator information:
