Hej Martin, that's fine for me. It's cool that you updated the project. I have not made many changes to the project since it's initial creation and I believe many things are outdated. If you want you can also create pull requests to update the repository.
Since then I have moved my attention to Magento 2 and used a more portable composer-based approach for dockerizing Magento. Maybe that's also interesting for you:

Hey :)
I didn't find another way to contact the original author.
This repository didn't work for me, so I forked it, and I ended up changing it quite a lot. I would like to know if it's okay for me to opensource the changes, I kept the original license available, along with the original author names.
It's right there https://github.com/hickscorp/dockerized-magento.
Thank you! Doodloo.

Regarding the 2.x version, we are developing a Magento extension and would like it to be compatible with 1.9 and 2.x. This is why I rewrote part of your work on 1.9, so we have something easy to use and identical on all our machines.
Will check your 2.x work when we move on :)
