Google Home App problem after connecting to Nora #98

I'm having a strange problem with the Google Home app after linking Nora The Google Home App works fine. When I connect it to Nora, all my devices shows up in the app and work fine. So far so good. I discovered the problem on my girlfriend her phone. She is linked to My home on the Google Home App. After she opened the app there is a message that it is not able to show this screen and you have to check your internet connection. After a lot of trouble shooting, having call’s with Google I’m now able to reproduce the problem and also on my own account. After connecting the Google Home App to Nora it works fine. But when I clear the data / cache from the app and singing in with the same account I’m also getting the same error as my girlfriend. The app isn’t usable but I’m able to go to the settings. When I remove the Nora Link over there everything works directly (except for the Nora devices). Also tried to create a new Google Account with a new home and link my existing Nora account, but this gives the same behavior. So I thinks it has something to do with Nora. Anyone else experiencing the same problems or maybe got any solution for this problem ?

I'm having the same exact issue. On my wife's phone, everything is ok. On my phone I get that error. Was thinking of trying to factory reset my phone. I did send an email to google home team as my phone doesn't answer to "Hey Google" anymore so I thought it might be related...

I don't see how NORA could be the fault.

Everything else seems to work fine (using google home devices).

I also discovered somthing else. When Nora is linked to my Google Home App I’m getting errors when I change settings om devices like my Google Home Hub and Mini. Also removing members of the home is not possible when Nora is linked. Maybe can you test this also ? When linking a other device (my Roborock) I don’t experience this problems.

Hi, i had the exact same issue. Removed Nora from my Home control devices an restarted the google home app and everything started working. Then added Nora again and it still works fine.

Apparently I can not add/remove Nora devices to/from Google Home anymore. If I link some other devices (Tuya smart) after Nora has been added they dont appear. After unsubscribing Nora devices the newly added devices (Tuya smart) show up. It looks like something is wrong with the Nora devices that makes Google Home unstable.

@andrei-tatar if you want me to test something just let me know.

Did you check in http://node-red-google-home.herokuapp.com (where you registered) what the config is when you add/remove devices. In my setup (only using the nora backend) I can add/remove devices without any problems in Google Home.

The problem is not that you can't add new devices with Nora. The problem is that you can't edit or add other devices is the Google Home App after you linked it to Nora. Even changing the name of a existing Google speaker is not working anymore.

If I navigate to http://node-red-google-home.herokuapp.com/ I can see the correct nodes configured in node-red but nothing gets synced to the Google Home app.
