MemoryError even though a lot of memory is available

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Running feedvalidator on gtfs.zip

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect a validation report, I get a crash report.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Either of the 3 last versions (1.2.10 - 1.2.12 Windows prebuilt binary)

Please provide any additional information below.
Running on either Windows 2008 R2 64bit or Windows 8 64bit. The zip archive 
contains some big files (stop_times.txt is > 500MB and > 11M lines). All 
attempts end with MemoryError even though the first machine has 12GB (not all 
free) and the other has 16GB (mostly free). The feedvalidator process crashes 
when it reaches about 800MB every time. I have tried the -o CONSOLE option with 
no apparent effect.
